Yao Yan Met with a Delegation Led by Vikas Kumar, Deputy Director of UNIDO Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development Center

On January 19, Yao Yan, Vice Chairman of CNBM and President of China Building Materials Academy (CBMA), met with a delegation led by Vikas Kumar, Deputy Director of Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development Center (IC-ISID) of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Yan Bilan, Vice President of CBMA and Director of UNIDO International Centre for Materials Technology Promotion, was among the attendees of the meeting.

Yao Yan extended a warm welcome to Mr. Vikas Kumar. She introduced the profile, industrial position and market prospect of CNBM and CBMA. She said that CNBM and CBMA owned a great advantage of international platform, and had many business contacts with India in recent years; both sides had great opportunities and space for cooperation in such aspects of technical R&D and product manufacturing, and hoped to boost common development through various cooperation forms.

Mr. Vikas Kumar said that both CBMA and IC-ISID possessed rich resources and a promising market, and both sides had many opportunities for cooperation in such fields as cement and concrete. At present, IC-ISID kept a close relationship with South-South Cooperation Center and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, and expected to establish a solid partnership with CBMA.

With Yan Bilan as the Chairwoman, both sides exchanged opinions on and discussed the development prospects of cooperation and project development. Both China and India are developing countries, and need to construct many infrastructures and livelihood projects. As a traditional industry, cement and concrete still have a large space for development. China conducted a large amount of researches and experiments, and generated many new connotations and technologies. It is hoped that both sides would strengthen mutual understanding in the future, carried out work related to UNIDO in a better way, and expect to have cooperation and researches with IC-ISID in such aspects as technical exchanges and trainings. Dr. Li Juan, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department of CBMA and UNIDO International Centre for Materials Technology Promotion, introduced the basic information of international technical exchange and cooperation projects of UNIDO International Centre for Materials Technology Promotion in recent years to Mr. Vikas Kumar.
