Outstanding Supervisor of Logistics Department Who Grows up with Wilco

Charlie James

Joined CNBM in 2015

The Logistics Supervisor of Wilco Limited

My name is Charlie James and I come from a village in Vanuatu called Nguna, where I am the village chief. I'm also a logistics manager at the Wilco's Vila Hardware branch. I have been working here for 11 years and feel fortunate to be part of the Wilco Limited family. I'm proud to be able to grow and develop here and show my true self.

Currently, I am in charge of the logistics department with a team of 22 employees. We are responsible for transportation, warehousing, distribution, vehicle management, and other tasks every day.We provide free delivery services to many islands in Vanuatu that have inconvenient transportation. This service enables my compatriots to purchase building materials more conveniently, making their lives easier. With the help of my leaders and colleagues and my persistent efforts, my business skills and management level have continuously improved. The cohesion and combat effectiveness of the team have become stronger and stronger. I am grateful to the company for providing me with a growth platform.

Wilco has participated in and supported many major projects construction in our country, and I have also been involved. I am deeply proud of this, and supporting the construction of the Lo Island project is particularly memorable to me. Lo Island is part of the Torres Islands in northern Vanuatu, and the island is surrounded by large amounts of reefs, making it impossible for large ships to anchor and unload cargo. To ensure that all items were transported to the project site in a timely manner, without the help of docks and necessary facilities at the time, we stood in the seawater of the reef group and formed a queue to manually transfer goods through manual relay. Finally, our team overcame the harsh delivery conditions, completed the task day and night with high quality and quantity, making Lo Island project become Wilco's business card to display their sincere customer service. Locals are more convinced that our company is trustworthy.

My hometown is a small village on Nguna Island in Vanuatu, and I am the village chief responsible for managing village affairs. In 2015,the hurricane Pam hit Vanuatu with wind speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour, flooding the entire Port Vila city. Many houses in my village were destroyed by the hurricane, and the villagers suffered significant losses with nowhere to go. After the disaster, Wilco immediately extended a helping hand to us by donating cement and building materials to help rebuild our homes. Now my village is being built better and better, and we no longer have to worry about the impact of typhoons during the rainy season. The villagers are full of gratitude towards Wilco Limited.

I am glad to be working in Wilco, which has improved my life and changed my destiny.I am also very happy to have a group of kind-hearted, down-to-earth, sincere and capable colleagues here, and our friendship has become even stronger. I believe that the friendship between China and the people of Vanuatu is as strong as iron and will last forever.
